Prepare and recommend to the Council revisions and amendments to the personnel rules. <br />2 The City Attorney shall approve the legality of such revisions and amendments prior to their <br />3 submission to the Council. <br />4 d. Prepare a position classification plan, including class specifications, and revisions of the <br />5 plan. The plan, and any revisions thereof, shall become effective upon approval by the <br />6 Council. <br />7 e. Prepare a plan of compensation, and revisions thereof, covering all classifications in the City <br />8 except elective positions. The plan, and any revisions thereof, shall become effective upon <br />9 approval by the Council. <br />10 f. Publish or post notices of examinations for positions in the competitive service; to receive <br />I1 <br />applications therefor; to certify to Human Resource Director a list of all persons eligible for <br />12 <br />appointment in the appropriate class in the competitive service. <br />13 <br />14 <br />SECTION 4: CIVIL SERVICE BOARD (Amended by Ordinance 03-93) <br />15 <br />There is hereby created a Civil Service Board, to consist of seven members appointed by the Council <br />16 <br />representing each district of the city. (See 2.03.020 of the Colton Municipal Code) <br />17 <br />18 <br />SECTION 5: MEETINGS <br />19 <br />The Civil Service Board shall hold meetings at such time and place within the City as shall be designated <br />20 <br />by the Chairman of the Board. Any regular meeting may be adjourned to a time certain and to a place <br />21 <br />designated by the Chairman. In addition, the Board may hold special meetings upon the call of the <br />22 <br />Chairman or any four members of the Board. Four members of the Board shall constitute a quorum for <br />23 <br />the transaction of business.
