equivalent to the cost of "family" coverage under the Health <br />Net Medical Insurance Program Group Number 50766A. <br />"Family" coverage is that coverage which exists for more <br />than two persons. Any increases in the City's flat dollar <br />contribution after the expiration of this Memorandum of <br />Understanding shall be subject to the meet and confer <br />process. <br />Each employee is required to maintain a minimum coverage for <br />him/herself in a plan of their choice. In those instances <br />where the employee's medical insurance premium is less than <br />the City's monthly contribution, the difference between said <br />dollar amounts shall be provided to the individual employee <br />in the form of a bi-weekly cash disbursement. <br />V. HEALTH INSURANCE AFTER RETIREMENT <br />Employees who are members of the Police Management Unit as <br />of January 1, 1987, shall be eligible for retirement health <br />insurance pursuant to Resolution 4598 (attached as Exhibit C <br />and incorporated herein by reference). <br />Future employees (those serving in representative classifi- <br />cations after January 1, 1987) of the Association shall not <br />be eligible for retirement health insurance pursuant to <br />Resolution 4598 (See Resolution No. R-33-87, attached and <br />incorporated herein by reference as Exhibit D), except as <br />set forth below. Employees who retire after having served a <br />minimum of twenty years with the City shall have their, and <br />their spouse's, premiums paid for by the City up to Medicare <br />age. After the retiree reaches Medicare age, he/she can <br />maintain health insurance with the City, but the retiree <br />must pay his/her, and his/her spouse's, premiums. If the <br />retiree is ineligible for Medicare benefits, the City will <br />continue to pay the premiums as long as the employee remains <br />insurable. For all other employees, all premiums required <br />by their participation in such health insurance plan should <br />be paid by them. Participation in any health insurance plan <br />is contingent upon the health insurance carrier approving <br />the enrollment of a retired employee. <br />VI. OPTICAL PLAN <br />The City shall provide to each employee in the Police <br />Management Unit an optical plan which will include the <br />following: <br />-2- <br />
