1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />JHB164244 <br />WHEREAS, the City of Colton finds and determines that it is in the interest of the <br />health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the City of Colton for the City to provide <br />emergency paramedic ambulance and transportation services through the City's Fire <br />Department. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager and the Fire Chief <br />are hereby directed an authorized to provide emergency paramedic ambulance service and <br />transportation service for patients with needs originating within the City limits of the City <br />of Colton through the City's Fire Department. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager and Fire Chief are <br />authorized to take all necessary administrative actions to provide such emergency paramedic <br />ambulance and transportation services within the City limits, including without limitation the <br />following: <br />1. Lease purchase, staffing and operation through the City's Fire Department of <br />three emergency paramedic ambulances. <br />2. Establishment of a billing structure for emergency paramedic ambulance and <br />transportation services based upon the following criteria: <br />a. Patients with health insurance/ambulance coverage shall be charged an <br />amount equal to the maximum policy limits for emergency paramedic ambulance <br />transportation services. <br />b. Patients with Medicare or Medi -Cal Insurance shall be charged the <br />maximum amount allowed by such systems for emergency paramedic ambulance <br />transportation services. <br />-2- <br />
