1 <br />2 <br />3 <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />7 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20 <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager, pursuant to his authority under <br />Section 3.08.150 of the Municipal Code of the City of Colton, has <br />retained Julie Hayward Biggs, formerly the designated Deputy City <br />Attorney, to provide general legal advice to the City for the time <br />period from July 1, 1993 until the City Council formally appoints <br />a City Attorney to replace John Brown who has resigned from that <br />position; and <br />WHEREAS, the law firm of Best, Best & Krieger was designated <br />as general counsel for the City of Colton pursuant to Resolution R- <br />91-91 and that law firm has resigned as general counsel; and <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to appoint another firm to act as <br />general counsel to the City of Colton to replace Best, Best & <br />Krieger; and <br />WHEREAS, the law firm of Brunick, Alvarez & Battersby has <br />the requisite experience and skill to act as general counsel to the <br />City of Colton; and <br />NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON DOES <br />HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION 1. Julie Hayward Biggs ("Biggs") is hereby <br />appointed as City Attorney and authorized to act as General Agency <br />Counsel for the Agency to serve at the pleasure of the City Council <br />and the Agency. <br />SECTION 2. Biggs is hereby authorized to appoint such <br />Deputy City Attorneys as may be necessary to represent the City in <br />legal matters and litigation pertaining to City business from the <br />law firm of Brunick, Alvarez & Battersby which shall act as general <br />counsel to the City. <br />
