BOX 1320 <br />REDLANDS, CALIFORNIA 92373 <br />TELEPHONE (909) 793-0816 <br />PLEASE REFER TO <br />The purpose of this letter is to set forth the basis upon which <br />Brunick, Alvarez & Battersby (the "Law Firm") will undertake to <br />represent the City of Colton (the "City") as its general legal counsel <br />in matters referred to the Law Firm by City Attorney Julie Hayward <br />Biggs, as such matters are referred from time to time in Ms. Biggs' <br />sole and absolute discretion. <br />h. <br />4,,,1. Services to be Performed by City Attorney: <br />We understand that Julie Hayward Biggs ("Biggs") shall serve <br />as the appointed City Attorney and shall serve in such capacity <br />until such appointment is terminated upon thirty days written <br />notice by either the City or Biggs. <br />2. Services to be Performed by the Law Firm: <br />The Law Firm shall serve as general legal counsel to the City <br />pursuant to Resolution R-60-93 and Biggs shall refer such matters <br />to the Law Firm on an as -needed basis as she, in her sole <br />discretion, deems appropriate for handling by the Law Firm. <br />3. Attornevs' Fees: <br />In consideration of the legal services rendered for general <br />legal counsel the City shall pay to the Law Firm an hourly rate of <br />$105 per hour for senior attorneys (partners and associates with <br />five or more years admittance to the bar), $90 per hour for all <br />other attorneys, and $75 per hour for paralegals and law clerks. <br />
