1 Section 903.2.10 of the California Fire Code is hereby amended by the deletion o <br /> 2 the exceptions. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 Section 903.2.10.1 of the California Fire Code is hereby amended to read as <br /> follows: - <br /> 5 <br /> 6 <br /> 7 903.2.10.1 Commercial parking garages. An automatic sprinkler system shall be <br /> provided throughout buildings used for storage of commercial trucks or buses <br /> 8 where the fire area exceeds 200 square feet. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 <br /> 11 <br /> 12 15.06.175 Section 903.2.8, Group R, is hereby amended as follows: <br /> 13 <br /> 14 <br /> 903.2.8. An automatic sprinkler system installed in accordance with Section 903.3 <br /> 15 shall be provided throughout all buildings with a Group R fire area as follows: <br /> 16 <br /> 17 1. New buildings: An automatic sprinkler system shall be installed throughout <br /> 18 all new buildings. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 2. Existing buildings: An automatic sprinkler system shall be installed <br /> 21 throughout when one of the following conditions exists: <br /> 22 <br /> 23 a) When an addition is 33% or more of the existing building area, as defined in <br /> Section 502.1, and greater than 1000 square feet(92.903 m2)within a two-year <br /> 24 period; or <br /> 25 b) An addition when the existing building is already provided with automatic <br /> 26 sprinklers; or <br /> 27 c) When an existing Group R Occupancy is being substantially renovated, <br /> 28 and where the scope of the renovation is such that the Building Code Official <br /> determined that the complexity of installing a sprinkler system would be similar <br /> as in a new building. <br />
