1 maintained in accordance with the Records Retention Schedule. <br /> 2 <br /> Section 3. Approval of the Revised Records Policy. The City Council hereby <br /> 3 <br /> 4 approves and adopts the revised Records Policy, attached hereto as Exhibit "C" and <br /> 5 <br /> incorporated herein by reference. All records shall be maintained in accordance with <br /> 6 <br /> 7 both the Records Retention Schedule and Records Policy. <br /> 8 <br /> Section 4. Grant of Authority. The City Council hereby grants to the City <br /> 9 <br /> 10 Manager, or his or her designee, ongoing authority without further approval required <br /> 11 <br /> by the City Council, and with the written consent of the City Attorney provided herein, <br /> 12 <br /> 13 to authorize the destruction of any and all obsolete City records that have been <br /> 14 <br /> maintained in accordance with the Records Retention Schedule approved by the City <br /> 15 <br /> 16 Council and adopted by this Resolution. <br /> 17 <br /> Section 5. Custodian of Records. The City Clerk Office is hereby designated <br /> 18 <br /> 19 the official "Custodian of Records" and shall develop policies and procedures for the <br /> 20 <br /> implementation of the City-wide records program and Records Retention Schedule. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 The Custodian of Records is hereby authorized to carry out the City-wide records <br /> 23 <br /> program and any related policies and procedures under the direction of the City <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Manager. The Custodian of Records is further authorized to update the Records <br /> 26 <br /> Retention Schedule from time to time to incorporate changes in local, state and <br /> 27 <br /> 28 federal laws affecting retention of City records. <br />
