1.03.2 Nurse, paramedic, or other allied health licensure desirable. <br />ACLS, PALS, B LS certification, instructor preferred. <br />1.03.3 Experience as an MICN in the ICEMA region preferred. <br />1.03.4 At least three years experience in emergency medicine, EMS or <br />related field. <br />1.03.5 Basic knowledge of healthcare law, finance, and prehospital <br />regulatory requirements preferred. <br />1.03.6 Other attributes as outlined in the job specifications set forth 1 <br />Exhibit B. <br />ARTICLE II <br />INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR RELATIONSHIP <br />2.01 Relationship. In the performance of this Agreement, it is mutually <br />understood and agreed that Contractor is at all times acting and <br />performing as an independent contractor. Agency shall neither have the <br />right to nor exercise any control or direction over the method or manner <br />by which Contractor performs services under this Agreement. The sole <br />interest and responsibility of Agency is to ensure that Contract Services <br />shall be performed in accordance with applicable state and federal laws <br />and regulations, recognized standards of professional practice, and the <br />terms of this Agreement. <br />2.02 Non -exclusivity. Contractor may, without restriction, perform any other <br />work, either of the type being performed under this Agreement or <br />otherwise, for individuals or entities other than Agency. It is expressly <br />understood that the terms and conditions of this Agreement apply only to <br />services which are commenced pursuant to the receipt of a written or <br />verbal referral from Agency. <br />2.03 Insurance. Contractor will maintain general liability insurance and/or self- <br />insurance program with limits of not less that One Million Dollars <br />($1,000,000) per occurrence and Three Million Dollars ($3,000,000) <br />annual aggregate covering Contractor and all participating persons <br />affiliated with or employed b y Contractor for all sums within the limits of <br />the policy which any insured shall legally become obligated to pay as <br />damages because of injury resulting from any negligence from the <br />furnishing of services which arise out of or are caused by the activity <br />which is the subject of this Agreement. In addition, Contractor shall <br />maintain worker's compensation insurance and/or a state approved self- <br />insurance program, as required by law, and employer liability insurance <br />and/or self-insurance no less than $1,000,000.00 per occurrence. <br />2.04 No Responsibility. Agency assumes no responsibility for reimbursement <br />for travel expenses nor does Agency assume any liability for Contractor's <br />competence in the operation of any motorized vehicle.
