til <br />231 <br />251 <br />27 <br />28 <br />ORDINANCE NO. 0-0 4 -97 <br />AN ORDINANCE ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING SECTIONS 2.30.020, <br />2.30.030 AND 2.30.070 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL <br />CODE RELATING TO APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS OF <br />CITY COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES <br />THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF COLTON DO HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION i:. Section 2.30.020 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby amended to <br />read as follows: <br />"With the exception of the Planning Commission, all commissions and <br />committees of the city shall be comprised of seven members appointed by the <br />mayor with the approval of the city council in accord with the provisions of <br />California Government Code Section 40605. The planning commission shall <br />be comprised of seven members appointed on the recommendation of each <br />councilmember and the mayor, and ratified by a majority vote of the city <br />council. " <br />SECTION 2_: Section 2.30.030 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as <br />follows: <br />"230.030 Manner of Appointment. It shall be the responsibility of each <br />member of the city council to recommend one individual to serve on each of <br />the various city commissions and committees within the city to the mayor for <br />his consideration for appointment, subject to approval by a majority vote of the <br />city council. In the event that a member of the city council shall fail to make <br />any recommendation within thirty (30) days of the date of his or her being <br />sworn in to office or within sixty (60) days of the occurrence of a vacancy, the <br />
