til 231 251 27 28 ORDINANCE NO. 0-0 4 -97 AN ORDINANCE ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING SECTIONS 2.30.020, 2.30.030 AND 2.30.070 OF THE COLTON MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS OF CITY COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF COLTON DO HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION i:. Section 2.30.020 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "With the exception of the Planning Commission, all commissions and committees of the city shall be comprised of seven members appointed by the mayor with the approval of the city council in accord with the provisions of California Government Code Section 40605. The planning commission shall be comprised of seven members appointed on the recommendation of each councilmember and the mayor, and ratified by a majority vote of the city council. " SECTION 2_: Section 2.30.030 of the Colton Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "230.030 Manner of Appointment. It shall be the responsibility of each member of the city council to recommend one individual to serve on each of the various city commissions and committees within the city to the mayor for his consideration for appointment, subject to approval by a majority vote of the city council. In the event that a member of the city council shall fail to make any recommendation within thirty (30) days of the date of his or her being sworn in to office or within sixty (60) days of the occurrence of a vacancy, the
