1 <br />2 INTERIM URGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 0-13-97 <br />3 AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />4 EXTENDING THE MORATORIUM ON PROCESSING OF <br />APPLICATIONS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF <br />5 FREEWAY ORIENTED SIGNS NOT ALREADY APPROVED <br />6 WITHIN THE CITY (Government Code Section 65858) <br />7 A. On October 1, 1996 the City Council adopted by a unanimous vote Ordinance <br />8 No. 0-29-96 entitled "An Urgency Ordinance Of The City Council Of The City Of Colton, <br />9 Imposing A Moratorium On Processing of Applications for the Construction of Freeway <br />10 Oriented Signs not Already Approved within the City." <br />11 <br />12 B. On November 5, 1996, the City Council adopted by a unanimous vote Ordinance <br />13 No. 0-32-96 entitled "An Urgency Ordinance Of The City Council Of The City Of Colton, <br />14 <br />Extending the Moratorium On <br />Processing of Applications for the Construction <br />of Freeway <br />15 <br />11 <br />Oriented Signs not <br />Already Approved within the <br />City." <br />16 C By force of law and its own terms, Ordinance No. 0-32-96 expires and is of <br />17 no further force and effect after ten months and fifteen (15) days from its effective date, <br />18 <br />19 unless further extended by action of the City Council, which is August 20, 1997. <br />20 D. The City Council received a staff report dated July 28, 1997, incorporated by <br />21 this reference, which states that since the adoption of Ordinance No. 0-29-96 as extended by <br />22 Ordinance No. 0-32-96, the City has taken steps to study the contemplated revisions to the <br />23 City's Municipal Code relating to its regulation of freeway oriented signs. <br />24 E. On August 19, 1997, the City Council held a duly noticed public hearing to <br />25 <br />26 consider extending Ordinance No. 0-29-96 as extended by Ordinance No. 0-32-96 for an <br />27 additional twelve (12) months from and after August 20, 1997 which is the extended <br />28 <br />
