CITY OF COLTON
AGENDA REPORT
FOR COUNCL MEETING OF MAY 6, 1997
Both bids are deemed complete and both contractors are capable of performing the
project. The apparent low bidder is Matich Corporation with a bid amount of $38,393.
Since the bid is well within the project budget, staff request the Council authorize the
restoration of the additional paving, which was removed in Addendum # 3 of the bid
package. This will increase the project cost to $61,882 - well within the $120,000
budgeted by the State.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
This is a Budget Capital Improvement Project with funding from a State Grant in the
amount of $172,048, of which $52,048 has already been received for engineering
design and an $12,000 allocated for project administration. The Engineer's cost
estimate for the remaining "City -Wide" portion of the project is $90,000
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the Proposition 116 City -Wide Bicycle Lane Project and
recommend Council approve Matich Corporation as the lowest qualified bidder.
Staff also request Council to authorize an increase of $23,489 for additional paving
work to a total award of $61,882.
Y
Report prepared b James R. King, Engineering Specialist
2
