of the contract to share her special knowledge of the CITY OF <br />COLTON and its corporate history with the new city attorney <br />appointed by the City Council, as well as to assist generally in <br />the transition of legal services from the current in-house City <br />Attorney structure to a contract basis with a full-service law <br />firm of the City's choosing. Notwithstanding the hourly <br />limitation set forth herein, JULIE HAYWARD BIGGS shall be treated <br />for all accounting purposes as a full-time City employee and not <br />as an independent contractor during the term of this Agreement. <br />The salary and benefits authorized herein for the <br />contract position of Legal Affairs Manager shall not be subject <br />to reduction regardless of any furlough or other cost cutting <br />measures that may be adopted by the CITY OF COLTON during the <br />term of this Agreement. The contract position of Legal Affairs <br />manager shall terminate of its own accord without further action <br />of either party on October 22, 1998. <br />In acceptance of the irrevocable contract position at a <br />salary of $180,000 together with the benefits set forth herein <br />for the one-year contract term on the terms and conditions set <br />forth herein, JULIE HAYWARD BIGGS waives any and all causes of <br />action she may have against any agent, servant or employee of the <br />CITY OF COLTON, and further agrees to accept the irrevocable <br />one-year contract position of Legal Affairs Manager effective <br />October 22, 1997 and terminating October 22, 1998. As <br />further consideration, JULIE HAYWARD BIGGS agrees to waive any <br />worker's compensation claim or claims she may have as a result of <br />colton\settle.2 Page 5 of 10 <br />
