C. ALTERNATIVE NO.3
Alternative No. 3 consists of the ;same pressure reducing station for the Mohave area as described
in Alternative No. 1. For the Matich Development Phase I, one single pressure reducing station is
proposed on the existing 12" waterline (Plan 746 1) in Reche Canyon Road northerly of Pepper
Tree Lane_ Alternative No. 3 also includes approximately 2,000 L.F. of a 12" parallel waterline in
RecheCanyon Road from northerly of the pressure reducing station to southerly of East Gunnison
Way. Alternative No. 3 is shown on Figure 6.
Operation of the Mohave area pressure reducing station would be the same as set forth for
Alternative No. 1 (i.e. reduce pressures by approximately 65 psi). Operation of the pressure
reducing station on the 12" waterline in Reche Canyon Road would be similar as set forth for the
two pressure reducing stations on the 8" waterlines for Alternative No. 2 (i.e. reduce pressures by
approximately 8-5 psi).
The estimated capital cost for Alternative No. 3 is $240,000, which includes construction,
construction contingencies, and administrative, legal, and engineering fees.
D. ALTERNATIVE NO.4
Alternative No. 4 consists of creating a separate pressure zone to service those areas of the Reche
Canon area with elevations between 1,100 feet and 1,200 feet. The facilities required to create
the new pressure zone would consist of modifications to the existing Prado Booster Station (e.g.
modi& pumping unit performance), a new water storage reservoir, a new booster station, and
related pipelines. It appears that the City's Sullivan Reservoir site would be near the appropriate
i,.
III -4
