CITY OF COLTON <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT <br />FISCAL YEAR 2000-2001 <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) <br />PROJECT PROPOSAL APPLICATIONS <br />City of Colton, Public Works Department, Street Improvements -Northeast Colton <br />"Missing Links," $169,037: Construction of curb, gutter, sidewalk, drive <br />approaches, and handicap ramps where needed on Shasta Drive (Mt. Vernon to <br />Scenic Drive), Sperry Drive (south end to Shasta Drive), Scenic Drive (Scenic <br />Drive to Western Avenue), Illinois Avenue (Shasta Drive to Western Avenue), <br />Iowa Avenue (Shasta Drive to Kansas Avenue), Kansas, Virginia, Florence, and <br />Western Avenues (from Illinois to Scenic Drive). <br />2. City of Colton, Public Library, Adult Literacy Services Program, $24,000: The <br />Colton Public Library proposes to maintain adult and family literacy services at <br />the Pete Luque Branch for low and moderate income adults. Staff will <br />coordinate a free reading and writing instructional program. <br />3. City of Colton, Police Department, Code Enforcement Program, $140,000: <br />Continuation of the Code Enforcement Program in targeted CDBG eligible areas. <br />The project will provide funding for salaries, benefits, and mileage for three Code <br />Enforcement Officers. <br />ALS <br />(11;23/99) <br />
