May 10, 1999 <br />Yolanda Lopez, Chairperson <br />Civil Service Commission <br />RE: City of Colton Personnel Rules & Regulations <br />Civil Service Ordinance <br />Dear Commissioner Lopez, <br />Attached is a copy of the updated Personnel Rules and Regulations and Civil Service <br />Ordinance. It contains all of the changes and updates that have been approved by the City <br />Councii since 1962. The amended policy and ordinance contain no new provisions but <br />only rules and regulations that have alreadv been ap�roved by the City Council. <br />Please keep in mind that although it is cleaz that there might be a need for change in the <br />Personnel Rules and Regulations, significant changes can only be done during the meet & <br />confer process, with our employee associations. Approving this document would be the <br />firs± step in ultimately making revisions to our rules. The earliest opportunity for this to <br />occur would be June of 2001 when the last of our labor contracts would expire. <br />I am planning to take the attached documents to the first City Council meeting in June. I <br />would like to have any comments that you have regarding the attached documents �ylYlgx <br />20. 1999.
