4 <br />5 <br />6 <br />8 <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 <br />12 <br />13 <br />14 <br />15 <br />16 <br />17 <br />18 <br />19 <br />20, <br />21 <br />22 <br />23 <br />24 <br />25 <br />26 <br />27 <br />28 <br />RESOLUTION NO R 3 4 -99 <br />PERSONNEL SYSTEM RULES AND REGULATIONS ` FOR THE CITY OF <br />COLTON <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the Ciry of Colton, California that Resolufion No. <br />2240 and sections of Ordinanee 2 222 pertaining to the Personnel System Rules and Regulations are <br />hereby consolidated and amended as follows and shall be effective as of May 4, 1999. <br />RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Colton does hereby adopt the following <br />rules: <br />RULE I- DEFIl�TITION OF TERMS <br />(As amended by Resolution No. 3344) <br />The following terms, whenever used in these rules, shall be conshued as follows: <br />SECTION i: ADVANCEMENT A salary increase of one or more steps within the limits of the pay <br />range established for a class. <br />SECTION 2: ALLOCATION The assignment of a single position to its proper c2ass in accardance <br />with the duties performed, and the authority and responsibilities exercised. <br />SECTION 3: APPOIl�ITMENT The designation of a person by due authority ta become an <br />employee m a position and the signing of the proper forms to pmperly record that designation and the <br />acceptance by the person of the position and conditions included as provided in these rules and the State <br />law.
