Electric Utility Inspector <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />CITY OF COLTON <br />QUALIFICATIONS: <br />Education and/or Experience: <br />Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, <br />skills and abilities necessary for an electric utility inspector. A typical way of <br />obtaining the required qualifications is to possess the equivalent of four years of <br />experience as an electric utility inspector or performance of related work, and a <br />high school diploma. <br />License/Certificate <br />Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid class C California driver's license. <br />ICBO/IAEI Certification as an Electrical Inspector is highly desirable. <br />KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SHILLS: <br />Knowledge of - <br />Applicable Federal, State, and local laws, codes and regulations. <br />Operations and standard operating procedures of an electrical utility inspection. <br />Characteristics of electrical utility standard equipment. <br />Modern office equipment including a computer and applicable software. <br />Occupational hazards and standard safety practices. <br />Proper English, spelling and grammar. <br />Proper Spanish, spelling and grammar is highly desirable. <br />Basic principles of mathematics. <br />Ability to: <br />Courteously respond to community issues, concerns and needs. <br />Make adjustments to standard operating procedures as is appropriate. <br />Apply applicable laws, codes and regulations. <br />Work independently. <br />Understand and follow instructions. <br />Establish and maintain effective working relationships. <br />Skill to: <br />Safely operate a motor vehicle on City Streets. <br />Effectively utilize tools of the trade. <br />APPROVED BY COUNCIL: October 19, 1999 <br />
