EXHIBIT A <br />SUMMARY OF CHANGES FOR FIRE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING FOR <br />THE CONTRACT YEAR EXPIRING JUNE 30, 2004 <br />This document contains a suxnmary of the modifications to the wages, hours and other <br />terms and conditions of employment of the Fire Association (the Association) members, which <br />have been negotiated pursuant to Government Code Section 3500, et s�., which is generally <br />referred to as the Meyers-Milias-Brown Act. These modifications shall be incorporated into the <br />"comprehensive" Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) upon the approval of the City Council <br />of the City of Colton and will be placed into effect upon the adoption of the necessary legal <br />documents by the City Council, if acceptable to them, in accordance with the terms and <br />conditions hereinafter set forth. <br />I. FISCAL YEAR: All employee benefits (i.e. floating holiday, bereavement leave, buy-backs, <br />tuition and optical reimbursement) will be changed from calendaz year to fiscal year renewal, <br />with no adverse impact to employee. <br />II. TERM OF AGREEMENT: The agreement will last for a one year period beginning July 1, <br />2003 and ending midnight June 30, 2004. <br />III. SALARY: The Association agrees to accept the percentage increase to each position's salary <br />range, retroactive to July 1, 2002 for association members/employees employed by the City of <br />Colton as of August 5, 2003, based on the Cities surveyed as follows: <br />IV.
