the Colton -San Bernardino Bikeway Project. One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) was allocated to the project as part of the City share. ANALYSIS/DISCUSSION: At the time the design and engineering contract was awarded to GK and Associates the City had not received all the funding available for the Colton Avenue Bike Lane Project. At this time the City has received an Agreement between the City of Colton and the Department of Transportation which if approved will increase the budget of the Project by $200,000; this funding is designated for construction phase uses only. The Department of Transportation requires all final accounting of the actual project costs and a final invoice to be prepared by April 1, 2007. ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT: Preliminary Environmental Study (PES Form) has been submitted to the Caltrans for review and approval. CONFLICT OF INTEREST N/A FINANCIAIJFISCAL IMPACT: The total Project costs including contingency is estimated at $1,706,000. Currently, the Project currently has already budgeted $1,406,000 of the funding which is available for the completion of the Project. This funding has been budgeted in the following accounts: 457-9165-6982-3890, 457-9165-6983-3890, 457-9165-6970-3890, and 457-9160-9165-3890. The additional $200,000 provided to this Project by the Department of Transportation will be budgeted in the 457 fund. An additional $25,000 will be provided by the City of San Bernardino and a remaining $100,000 is available in Measure I fiords. Thus, the total available funding for this project is $1,731,000. RECOMMENDATION: If Council concurs, staff requests to: Approve the Agreement for the award of an additional $200,000 in funding provided by the Department of Transportation. Approve attached resolution budgeting an additional $200,000 for the Colton Bike Lane Project in the remaining amount of $200,000.
