Mayor Gonzales stated this matter will be referred to Staff for study and report 13 <br />back to the Council at the next regular meeting. <br />Councilwoman Garcia asked Mrs. Hernandez if she could have a copy of a list of the <br />Board of Directors of the La Placita de Agua Mansa Restoration Association. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Conditional Use Permits <br />P. C. Res. No. 980 <br />Planning Director Aguilera reported on a Conditional Use Permit application request- <br />ed by Jensen Door and Finish Company, Inc., to construct an industrial canopy, meas- <br />uring 40 feet by 160 feet, to be open in design and utilized as a storage device, on <br />property located at 425 South Rancho Avenue in an M -1-X zone. <br />Mr. Aguilera advised the proposed project is consistent with the "Industrial" desig- <br />nation of the City's General Plan and compatible with surrounding uses. Mr. Aguilera <br />stated the Planning Commission, at a public hearing held January 27, 1981, recommend- <br />ed approval of the Conditional Use Permit application, subject to findings and four <br />conditions as outlined in Planning Commission Resolution No. 980. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Garcia, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve Planning <br />N Commission Resolution No. 980 together with findings and four conditions as listed <br />N therein. Unanimous vote. <br />3 Conditional Use Permit Fees <br />Q San Hidalgo Institute <br />Q Mr. Joseph Fazio, Planning Consultant, referred to Staff's report and a letter dated <br />January 27, 1981, from Norma Jean Rivera, Executive Director of San Hidalgo Institute, <br />requesting that their Conditional Use Permit application be cancelled and that the <br />Institute be reimbursed for the filing fee in the amount of $100. <br />Mr. Fazio continued that through Council action, at a previous meeting, San Hidalgo <br />Institute was designated as a permitted use and, therefore, a Conditional Use Permit <br />was not necessary. Mr. Fazio said that Staff, however, recommends the fee not be <br />refunded due to the considerable amount of time involved for study, public hearings, <br />etc. <br />Councilwoman Cisneros asked if Staff had requested that San Hidalgo Institute apply <br />for a Conditional Use Permit. <br />Mr. Fazio stated that initially, after study and discussion with Members of the In- <br />stitute, it had been agreed upon that San Hidalgo would apply for a Conditional Use <br />Permit. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Garcia, seconded by Councilman Hayes, denying request for reim- <br />bursement of $100. fee for a Conditional Use Permit by San Hidalgo Institute. Upon <br />Roll Call, the Vote was: <br />AYES: Three; Hayes, Garcia, Gonzales. <br />NOES: Two; Cisneros, Rehrer. <br />ABSENT: None. <br />Motion carried. <br />COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Special Assessments <br />Assessment District No. 78-2 <br />Director of Community Services Calvin Wang presented Change Order No. 2 on Contract <br />A of Assessment District No. 78-2 from W. R. Showalter & Associates, Inc., in the <br />amount of $30,693.57, for Council's consideration and approval. <br />Mr. Wang stated that Mr. Earl Young, of Showalter & Associates, was present if the <br />Council Members had any additional questions. <br />Councilwoman Garcia and Councilman Rehrer commented on the Change Order, stating <br />these items should be included as a part of the contract and not brought up later <br />at the City's expense. <br />Moved by Mayor Gonzales, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, approving Change Order No. <br />2 on Contract A for Assessment District No. 78-2, in the amount of $30,693.57. <br />Motion carried, with Councilman Rehrer voting NO. <br />FEB 3 1981 <br />
