X59
Council Members present were Rios, Cisneros, Rehrer, Garcia, and Mayor Huntoon.
Also present were City Manager Elliott, City Attorney Edwards, and City Clerk
Ramos.
CONSENT CALENDAR:
The following items listed under the Consent Calendar were discussed in detail:
Bids
Award of Bid for 1983 three -axle dump truck for the Streets Division. Staff was
recommending the bid award be made to GMC Truck & Coach in the amount of $59,751.14.
Mayor Huntoon felt the Council should take a look at the award of bid for the three -
axle dump truck, stating the bid submitted by Mack Trucks was approximately $3,000
less than the one submitted by GMC Truck & Coach. Mayor Huntoon said, however, the
bid from Mack Trucks did not meet the specs and was a new 1981 model.
City Manager Elliott referred to the bid package submitted by Staff in the Agenda
packet, and stated the difference between the bid for the equipment is that the
Mack truck is a new 1981 model and the GMC truck is a 1983 model, with a differ-
ence in price of approximately $3,000. Mr. Elliott said it is felt that the de -
(Y) viation from the specs, on the Mack truck, is not that significant.
7 After additional discussion with regard to the bids submitted and the specs for the
Q equipment as advertised, moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia,
Q to reject all bids on the 1983 three -axle dump truck, readvertise for a New three -
axle dump truck, omitting the year, and waiving bid security. Motion carried, with
Councilwoman Cisneros and Councilman Rios voting NO.
