Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: <br />Proclamation <br />Mayor Huntoon read in full. a Proclamation declaring the weeks of <br />April 1 through 14, 1984, as FAMILY COMMUNICATION WEEKS. The Proc- <br />lamation was accepted by Rosemary Colunga. <br />Resolution of Congratulations <br />Mayor Huntoon read in full a Resolution of Congratulations on behalf <br />of Eddie Melendez, who is retiring from the City of Colton after 21 <br />yearF of service. Mr. Melendez accepted the Resolution. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Zoning <br />Ord. No. 1660 <br />Mayor Huntoon declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported <br />that no protests or objections had been received. <br />Planning Director Aguilera reported on a change of zone request, from <br />Flood Plain, FP, to Business Park/PC, BP/PC, on property located south <br />of Fairway Drive, north of Interstate 10, and 1,000 feet east of <br />Sperry Drive, containing approximately 30.5 acres of vacant land, on <br />which the applicant, Community Consultants for San Bernardino County <br />Flood Control, plans the development of a major office and motel/ <br />restaurant complex with light industry and truck service/distribution <br />center. The City has expanded the applicant's request to include <br />approximately 7.17 acres of vacant land to the east of the project, <br />creating a zone change for a total of approximately 37.67 acres. <br />Mr. Aguilera advised that the Planning Commission recommends approval <br />of the zone change request, as outlined in their Resolution No. 2000. <br />Mr. Aguilera concluded if Council concurs, First Reading of Ordinance <br />No. 1660 would be in order. <br />Mayor Huntoon asked if anyone present desired to speak on this matter. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Rios, to terminate <br />the Public Hearing. Unanimous vote. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Rios, to waive <br />full reading and pass First Reading of Ordinance No. 1660. Vote <br />was unanimous. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1660 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING <br />(First Reading) ORDINANCE NO. 1602, AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING <br />FOR CERTAIN ZONE RECLASSIFICATIONS. <br />Councilwoman Garcia questioned several items concerning the zone <br />change with regard to the actual owners of the property, what type of <br />developments or improvements would be put in, the possible widening <br />of Fairway Drive, which is now a very narrow and winding street, was <br />a traffic study required, etc. Mrs. Garcia said she would like a <br />little more information on this before second reading of the ordi- <br />nance. <br />MAR 2 0 IN4 <br />
