Unanimous vote. <br />Public Works - City Manager Benest reported Engineering has no major <br />increases. The Street Maintenance shows two additional positions: <br />A Maintenance Worker I to do concrete patching. An Equipment Operator <br />for the new Street Sweeper. The Maintenance and Operations will show <br />a decrease because the Electric Department will be doing the Traffic <br />Signals. Three pieces of equipment will be purchased: One dump truck, <br />a Street Sweeper and a Backhoe Loader. The Weed Abatement is not <br />funded pending award of the new contract. The Park Maintenance shows <br />the addition of a Maintenance Man III for irrigation and a Maintenance <br />Man T. This will delete part time costs. Equipment is being replaced <br />on a five year lease. The Parks Division will contract out for one <br />additional Tree Trimming Crew. Utilities are going down due to the <br />Electric Department picking up the cost for ballfield lighting. The <br />City Yards is status quo. The Building Maintenance will be increased <br />by two to provide custodial services to the Cemetery, Museum and the <br />Court House Building. One of the Building Maintenance personnel will <br />be designated as a Lead Worker and will assume responsibility of the <br />Supervisor in his absence. Other expenditures include radio equipment, <br />tools for the Building Maintenance Crew and Capital Outlay of $10,000. <br />The Auto Shops is status quo. Professional Services in this account <br />provides for temporary workers. The Water Utility has three additional <br />positions: A Water Supervisor for Field Crew and Meter Crew supervision. <br />A Maintenance Worker I due to the two new water districts. A Contract <br />Water Utility Plan Checker to be paid by development fees. The Special <br />Expenses include meter reading and water sampling. Miscellaneous <br />expenses are for switch gear equipment replacement. Included in this <br />budget is one pickup and radio. Sewer Operations and Maintenance has <br />increased the part time clerical position, and provides for routine <br />replacement of manhole covers. Refuse is status quo pending the Refuse <br />Study which will be completed in about 90 days. The Cemetery reflects <br />the upgrade of the Maintenance Man I to a II and an increase of the <br />Part time sales person, to be paid from additional revenue. This budget <br />provides for mower and replacement items. The Cemetery budget is <br />balanced. <br />LA <br />
