PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Zone Change <br />Ord. No. 0-30-88 <br />Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported that <br />no protests or objections had been received. <br />Community Development Director Aguilera reported on a change of zone re- <br />quest from Vanir Development Company, Inc., for Merle and Betty Workman, <br />from R-3, multi -family residential, to C-2, general commercial, on prop- <br />erty located at 1002 North Mt. Vernon Avenue, approximately 11,100 square <br />feet in size. The General Plan allows both commercial and residential <br />uses and zones. Mr. Aguilera advised that applicant is requesting the <br />zone change in order to have the base zoning designation consistent with <br />the current and existing land use. <br />Mr. Aguilera continued the Planning Commission held a public hearing on <br />this matter and found the proposal warranted a Negative Declaration and <br />that approval of the request was in the best interest of the City and, <br />therefore, adopted Planning Commission Resolution No. 3028. <br />Mr. Aguilera concluded if Council concurs with the Planning Commission <br />recommendation for approval, Staff would recommend passing First Reading <br />of Ordinance No. 0-30-88, and waive full reading. <br />Mayor Gonzales asked if anyone present desired to speak on this matter. <br />Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, to close the <br />Public Hearing. Unanimous vote. <br />Moved by Councilman Rios, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, to pass First <br />Reading of Ordinance No. 0-30-88, and waive full reading.
