Councilwoman Cisneros asked about the City's Ordinance regulating the use <br />of sound vehicles, the hours involved, etc. Mrs. Cisneros said she felt <br />the use of a sound vehicle was really in the spirit of an election and she <br />was all for it, however, she suggested the hours be changed to avoid dis- <br />turbing anyone. <br />City Attorney Edwards asked Mr. Abril if the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 <br />p.m. were agreeable to him. <br />Mr. Abril stated that would be all right. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilwoman Garcia, to <br />approve Permit for Sound Vehicle for Tuesday, November 8, 1988, from <br />9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL ITEMS <br />Proclamations <br />Mayor Gonzales read in full a Proclamation declaring the week of October <br />23 through 30, 1988, as RED RIBBON WEEK, "THE CHOICE FOR ME ... DRUG FREE", <br />encouraging all citizens to participate in drug awareness activities. The <br />Proclamations was accepted by Al Twine, County Drug Program Administrator. <br />Councilwoman Cisneros read in full a Proclamation declaring the month of <br />October, 1988, as CRIME PREVENTION MONTH. The Proclamation was accepted <br />by Crime Prevention Officer Mark Walters, Colton Police Department. <br />Councilman Rios read in full a Proclamation declaring the week of October <br />23 through 30, 1988, as DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION AWARENESS WEEK. The Procla- <br />mation was accepted by Chief Paul Connolly, Colton Police Department. <br />Councilwoman Garcia read in full a Proclamation declaring the month of <br />October, 1988, as COMMUNICATIONS MONTH. The Proclamation will be mailed <br />to Toastmasters International. <br />Mayor Gonzales read in full a Proclamation declaring the month of October <br />1988, as FIGHT DRUGS CAMPAIGN.
