Vanir Development Company, Merle and Betty Workman, for another ex- <br />tension of File Index No. A-4-88, Zone Change, adopted by Ordinance <br />No. 0-30-88, and File Index No. D-73-88. <br />Mr. Aguilera stated Ordinance No. 0-30-88 contained ten conditions of <br />approval, of which Nos. 3, 51 6, and 8 are of the upmost importance <br />to the City, with the Plaza Las Flores and Five Points Shopping Center <br />developments expecting to break ground soon. <br />Mr. Aguilera concluded Staff recommends a six-month extension be granted, <br />from September 13, 1990, and that the City Council advise the applicants <br />no further extensions will be granted. <br />Mayor Gonzales asked if anyone present desired to speak on this matter. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Lofy, to close <br />the Public Hearing. Unanimous vote. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Lofy, to approve <br />Staff's recommendation to grant an extension of six months to the appli- <br />cants for File Index Nos. A-4-88 and D-73-88, and no further extensions <br />on this matter. Unanimous vote. <br />Hazard Waste Management Plan <br />Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported <br />that no protests or objections had been received. <br />Community Development Director Aguilera reported on a Hazardous Waste <br />Management Plan for the City, stating once the Department of Health <br />Services approves the County Hazardous Waste Management Plan, under <br />1987 legislation, every city within that county will have 180 days <br />following receipt of a written notice of approval to take action in <br />one of three ways - adopt a City Hazardous Waste Management Plan con- <br />sistent with the County Hazardous Waste Management Plan; incorporate <br />portions of the County Hazardous Waste Management Plan into Cities <br />General Plans; or enact an ordinance that requires all City land use <br />approvals to be consistent with citing criteria of the County Hazardous <br />Waste Management Plan. Mr. Aguilera advised the deadline to act on one <br />of the three options is December 18, 1990. <br />Mr. Aguilera concluded Staff has reviewed the County Hazardous Waste <br />Management Plan and recommends adopting the Plan, together with First <br />Reading of Ordinance No. 0-19-90. <br />Mayor Gonzales asked if anyone present desired to speak on this matter. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Lofy, to close <br />the Public Hearing. Unanimous vote. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Roman, to approve <br />and adopt the County Hazardous Waste Management Plan and First Reading, <br />3 L�r� <br />
