from the City Council, City Manager and Department Heads in order to <br />assist in meeting the Air Quality Management District requirements. <br />The Air Quality Management District penalties for non-compliance are <br />very severe, therefore, it is imperative the City act in a timely <br />manner to avoid criminal and civil penalties, which can amount to <br />$25,000. per day. <br />Mr. Aguilera concluded Staff recommends approval of Regulation 15 Trip <br />Reduction Plan for the City of Colton Corporate Yards, as approved by <br />the Air Quality Management District, and that the Council authorize <br />Community Development Staff to immediately begin implementing said Plan, <br />with the full support and cooperation of the City Manager and Department <br />Heads. <br />Moved by Councilman Lofy, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to approve <br />Regulation 15 - Trip Reduction Plan for the City's Corporate Yards as <br />outlined. Unanimous vote. <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Personnel <br />City Manager Sotelo reported on the adoption of a new Job Description <br />for the position of Police Chief, which is needed to update the educa- <br />tion, training and experience requirements. The current job descrip- <br />tion was written in 1971. <br />Mr. Sotelo advised our Police Chief, Paul Connolly, is retiring the <br />end of December, 1990, and the City would like to proceed with the <br />recruitment for a new Police Chief. <br />Mr. Sotelo concluded Staff recommends approval and adoption of the <br />new Job Description for the position of Police Chief. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Lofy, to approve <br />and adopt new Job Description for the position of Police Chief.
