Councilman Roman said he was proud of the goals set for the City and hoped they would <br />be seen to conclusion by the new City Council. <br />He thanked his wife and family for their participation for they too become politically involved <br />- taking praise and comments from the public. The tirne served as councilmember has been <br />educational and rewarding, including the time spent on the "hot seat." He pointed with pride <br />at the tremendous City Staff of Employees who bend over backwards to serve the public - <br />under the direction of a great mayor. <br />He said he had learned many lessons particularly from Councilmember Rios who, two years <br />ago, had declared he would be back and he is now back. Now, Councilman Roman declared <br />that he would be back in two years, <br />At 8:00 P. M., Mayor Gonzales summoned all newly -elected Councilmembers and re-elected <br />City Officials to the front of the dais where the Oath of Office was administered by Deputy <br />City Clerk Delgado. M., Mayor Gonzales called the meeting of the newly installed City Council to <br />order; all members are present. <br />Mayor Gonzales opened the forum for the election of a Mayor Pro Tempore. Councilmember <br />Rios nominated Councilmember Beltran, seconded by Councilmember Cisneros. <br />Councilmember Bennett nominated Councilmember Rios, seconded by Councilmember <br />Sandoval. Motion to close nominations was made by Councilmember Cisneros, seconded <br />by Councilmember Rios. <br />There was a question as to a manner of voting, Attorney John Brown advised that there is <br />a requirement to announce the vote in public and the vote cannot be secret. <br />LI <br />
