As requested by Mayor Gonzales, City Clerk Ramos called roll: <br />Councilmember Bennett <br />voting for <br />Councilmember Rios <br />Councilmember Sandoval <br />voting for <br />Councilmember Rios <br />Councilmember Rios <br />voting for <br />Councilmember Beltran <br />Councilmember Cisneros <br />voting for <br />Councilmember Beltran <br />Councilmember Cook <br />voting for <br />Councilmember Beltran <br />Councilmember Beltran <br />voting for <br />Councilmernber Beltran <br />Mayor Gonzales <br />voting for <br />Councilmember Beltran <br />Mayor Gonzales announces that COUncilmember Beltran has been elected as Mayor Pro <br />Tempore for the Colton City Council. <br />Mayor Gonzales then called upon each the newly -elected councilmembers to address the <br />assembly. <br />Councilmember Bennett promised to work hard and invited fellow councilmembers to put <br />personal agendas aside to join and work together for -the City's common good. She noted <br />there are new people on the Council who will have new approaches and together the City <br />Council can be innovative in its sights, goals and objectives. <br />Mrs. Bennett thanked the public, her parents, Ramon Hernandez, Brett Buffington, Fritz <br />Weiss, her brother Mark and husband Bruce Bennett. <br />Councilmember Sandoval thanked his family who taught him to serve the community and <br />to do what is right for others, As school teacher and councilmember, he hoped this would <br />help to open the door between the City and School, As councilmember he realized he must <br />share the good with the bad. He exclairned that the City is entering a tremendous time. He <br />felt honored at the opportunity to serve and thanked the voters. <br />Councilmernber Rios shared that he VVaS fOCLIsed on the quality of life in the City of Colton. <br />He ran for office with the strong belief that he can make a difference. This is a new policy <br />era and each member should be willing to work on personal agenda along with general goals <br />and objectives. Collectively, there is nothing that cannot be accomplished. He said he <br />worked hard and waged a positive campaign which led to his victory. He thanked the people <br />who worked hard on his campaign and to those individuals who talked to voters on his <br />behalf and to those who prayed for him. Mrs James DeHays, Mrs. Evelyn Rehrer and Gwen <br />Brown. <br />He praised the farnily members who supported him: His parents-in-law, his siblings, his <br />children and his wife. <br />41 <br />
