Mr. Acevedo stated this is a status report, requiring no action by the City Council at this <br />time. City Manager Lewis said that staff will continue to improve this proposal, and <br />incorporate any feedback received from Councilmembers, and return to the City Council with <br />a finalized plan. <br />Mr. John Longfield, 1809 Cottonwood, inquired if this plan eliminates the 60 -day billing <br />period. Electric Director Drews informed that gas and electric have varying days - 5 to 6 <br />days - depending on availability of personnel, effecting the billing cycle. Mr. Longfield asked <br />if it was feasible to make payment due on the first day of the month, Mr, Acevedo stated <br />that 13,000 accounts can't be concentrated for the first; however, he would check into it. <br />Mr. Longfield wondered if credit to the monthly bill could be given to the customer in <br />instances where the resident leaves no trash and/or where the customer leaves a sizable <br />contribution of recyclables. He felt that anything to cut the bill down will be appreciated by <br />the citizens. City Manager Lewis said staff would review these suggestions, <br />Citv Council Goals & Oblectives - Status ReDorts <br />Teen Center <br />Parks, Recreation and Human Services Director Herron announced planned tours of teen <br />centers in other communities: Commencing July 30, 1992, visits to Azusa, Baldwin Park, <br />Montclair, Riverside (2 Facilities) and San Bernardino (2 Facilities.) The inspection team will <br />develop a list of elements needed to operate a teen facility. Thereafter, approval and <br />authorization will be sought to hire an architect, plan and construct. <br />Status CaDit8l Im.grompmenIs <br />Public Works Director Hutton proudly pointed to the rising barometer marking achievement <br />for this project. He reported that the re -alignment and re-signalization project at Washington <br />Street, Hunts Lane and Reche Canyon Road has gone out to bid; bid award schedule for <br />9/1/92 with construction to commence 30 days after bid. <br />On South La Cadena Project, Phase 1, is expected to be funded via Host City Fees and CDBG <br />by 7/15/92; advertisement for 8/10/92; with bid to be awarded August 15, 1992 and <br />construction to commence 30 days thereafter. Traffic signals at Fairview and Colton <br />Avenue, were approved by Southern Pacific Railroad - with no crossing arms - is set for bid <br />advertisement by August 10, 1992 and bid award for 8/15/92 with construction to <br />commence 30 days thereafter. Repaving and New Traffic Signals at Rancho and Valley <br />Boulevard will be under construction on August 17, 1992. Street Improvements are <br />underway from Miller - Laurel to end; 10th - Laurel to Canal; 6th - Congress to Fogg and <br />Eucalyptus - Pepper to Valley, from combined CDBG and California Transportation Funds. <br />M <br />
