1ft A <br />0r. Cello Olivar, 1421 Alston, asked the City Council to allow public access to the <br />facility, allow anybody to -train. Boxing is a discipline which requires consistency. It <br />cannot be done with split shifts. <br />Mr. Fred Soriano, 175 W. Johnston, said there was amateur and professional boxing. <br />Their boxing club represents anyone who grants amateur status. Time schedules were <br />from 4:00pm to •.39pm and from 6;30prn to 9:00prn and the schedules had been <br />complied with but noir training was overlapping. <br />Mr. John Aguilar recalled assurances from the Mayor that they would have a facility <br />and this problem has been ongoing for three years, He explained that they were not <br />trying to set aside the Hub City Boating Club but it -appears that the Colton Boning <br />Club is again on the outside looking in. mayor Gonzales indicated there was a building <br />but the agreement fell through. He urged the boxing clubs to work together. He <br />emphasized that the intent is to teach kids goon sportsmanship. <br />Mr. Aguilar asked the City Council to recognize that there are two boxing programs <br />in Colton - professional boxing is one spurt and U. S. amateur boating is another sport. <br />He proposed that the solution is to have two facilities. if a building is founds Mr. <br />Aguilar offered to pay rent, if necessary.
