with the reorganization of the Public Works Department. There is a unit in the Parks <br />and Recreation Department which could be transferred to the Public Works. There <br />would be a modification to the Parks, recreation and Human Services Director's job <br />description and salary level, for cost savings, <br />Mrs. Suzan Carr, 1 150 North La Cadena, Chairperson of the Parks and recreation <br />Commission, said that in over three years of attending meetings she had only missed <br />one meeting. At the last meeting, there was confusion about the meeting place. She <br />and another commissioner were in the Chambers and ether commissioners were at the <br />Hutton Center. She inquired about the appointment of a director. She said that in the <br />period of time she has served that there have been five directors. <br />Joint Workshop <br />After brief discussion, motion made by Cauncilmember Cook, seconded by <br />Councilmember Sandoval, to schedule a joint workshop, with the utilities Commission, <br />on July 26, 1993 at 6;00 P. M., for the purpose of discussing the LEMNA Project and <br />the RIX Full kale Project, unanimous gate. <br />Le islation <br />Motion made by Councilmember Cisneros, seconded by Councilmember Sandoval, to <br />register the City Council's opposition, to the Governor and congressmen, to their <br />proposal to reallocate local property tax revenues, a total of $2.6 billion, from local <br />governments as part of their proposed 1993-94 budget plan. unanimous vote. <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br />Pageant <br />Mayor Gonzales acknowledged receipt of a letter from Lori Adkins, Chairman of Little <br />Miss Colton Pageant. Motion made by COUncilmember Sandoval, seconded by <br />Councilmember Cisneros, to hold this year's pageant in Fleming Park on Saturday, <br />July 31, 1993, From 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M., which is open to the public. <br />Unanimous vote. <br />Laundromat <br />With Council approval, Mayor Gonzales referred the matter of the proposed <br />Laundromat by lair. Curtis J. Jones to the Public Work's Department for investigation <br />and report. Fater Utilities Manager Bob Lavin said the proposed laundromat would <br />be located on Washington Street, next to the 7-11. He related that there was <br />communication between Mr. Jones and himself, with a meeting in the near future, in <br />an attempt to resolve any problem. <br />0 <br />
