Community Development Director Zamora presented for Council consideration and approval of staff's <br />recommendation. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT: <br />Peter Brodinski, spoke in support of the project, he explained that there was a need for such businesses <br />in the area that do not have a large income and would benefit the area. <br />Michael Lindsey, Project Architect, spoke in support of the plan and explained how this was a good <br />project. <br />Motion/second by CM Hernandez/De La Rosa to terminate Public Hearing. Discussion continued with CM <br />Mitchell/ Chastain expressing concerns regarding the proposed facility. Community Development <br />Director Zamora explained that the facility had restriction as set forth by ordinance. CM De La Rosa <br />suggested that the Architect might identity the occupants of the building. Community Development <br />Director Zamora explained that the Architect did not know who would occupy the building; the zone <br />change requested was to accommodate a restaurant in a retail store design. CM Hernandez commended <br />staff on their outstanding efforts on this project. Unanimous vote. <br />Motion/second by CM Hernandez/Ramos to approve and adopt RESOLUTION NO. R-137-04. <br />Unanimous vote. <br />Motion/second by CM Ramos/De La Rosa to waive full reading and pass first reading of ORDINANCE <br />NO. 0-31-04.
