Presentation Family Services Supervisor Cecilia Hernandez presented certificates of <br />Participation to 30 Colton High School students for their participation in <br />Student Government Day <br />Presentation Recreation Services Supervisor Deb Farrar, provided a brief overview on <br />the upcoming Unity Day activities. <br />Presentation Electric Utility General Manager Jeanette Olko, provided a brief overview <br />of the Annual APPA Lineman's Rodeo and introduced the team and <br />sponsors. <br />Proclamation CM Chastain read and presented a proclamation on the "National Day of <br />Prayer"to Pastor Bob Johnson. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS:, <br />Appeal — Giant RV Center <br />This was the time and place fixed to consider the continued public hearing from April 05, 2005 <br />and consider the appeals of the planning commission's approval of file index number DAP -000- <br />322, Giant RV, regarding uniform sign program/major variance for an over height freestanding <br />sign for property located at 1300 E. Santo Antonio Drive, Colton, CA 92324 (northeast corner of <br />Mt. Vernon Avenue and Santo Antonio drive), <br />The Mayor declared the Public Hearing "Open". <br />City Clerk Barrera announced that the Notice of Continuation is on file in the City Clerk's office <br />and no protests or objections had been received. <br />City Manager Parrish provided a summary of the staff recommendation and submitted another <br />option to deny the applicant without prejudice, with the right to the applicant to re -submit the <br />application to the Planning Commission after the sub -committee's formed in order to review the <br />present sign ordinance, and provided Council with recommended changes. <br />Motion/second by CM Hernandez/Mitchell to close public hearing. Motion carried with Mayor <br />Bennett absent. <br />Motion/second by CM Chastain/Suchil to approve and adopt Resolution No. R-53-05 to Deny <br />appeal withouf prejudice. Motion carried with Mayor Bennett absent. <br />General Plan Amendment <br />This was the time and place fixed to consider the continued public hearing from April 19, 2005 <br />and consider a general plan amendment from medium residential to light industrial, zone <br />change from R-2 (duplex residential) to M-1 (light industrial), and approval of a negative <br />declaration for an existing construction/maintenance yard located at 309 West Congress Street <br />(Assessor Parcel Number 0163-202-21). <br />The Mayor declared the Public Hearing "Open". <br />2005 MAY 3 REG CC/RDA/CUA MEETING -3- <br />
