"False Alarm" shall mean an alarm signal which, under ordinary <br />2 (circumstances, will necessitate or cause response by the Police Department where <br />31 an emergency situation does not exist. <br />4 6. "Proprietor Alarm" shall mean an alarm which is not serviced <br />5 by an alarm business, <br />6 I 7. "Silent Alarm" shall mean that type.of alarm system which, <br />7when activated, sounds a bell or buzzer or turns on a light at a predesignated <br />8place other than the location where the alarm has been installed. <br />9 8. "Subscriber" shall mean a person contracting with an alarm <br />10 ibusiness for the leasing, servicing or maintaining of an alarm system. <br />11 Section 9.30.020. Permit -Required. <br />12 a. No person shall engage in, conduct, or carry on an alarm busi- <br />13 ness without first applying for and receiving a permit therefor in accordance <br />14 1with the provisions of this chapter. <br />15 3 b. No person shall operate as an alarm agent, or engage. in or <br />16 1 conduct any activity as an alarm agentwithoutfirst applying for an receiving <br />17+a permit therefor in accordance with the provisions of this chapter. <br />c. No person shall install an alarm system, proprietor alarm, or <br />19 laudible alarm or use or possess an operative alarm system, proprietor, or audible <br />I <br />207 'alarm without first applying for and receiving a permit in accordance with the <br />i <br />i <br />21 (provisions of this chapter. <br />22 Section 9.30.0.30. Exemptions - Special Alarm Systems. The pro - <br />23 (visions of this chapter shall not be applicable to: <br />24 ' 1. Audible alarms affixed to automobiles. <br />25 2. Fire or smoke sensor alarm systems or detectors when such <br />i <br />26 jsystems are not used as, or in lieu of, intrusion detection devices or alarm <br />27 I sys terns . <br />2$ i 3. Emergency medical crisis alarms when such systems are not used <br />as, or in lieu of, intrusion detection devices or alarm systems. <br />
