Lesser work periods shall be wholly <br />ignored. <br />(a-2) The work assumed must be that of a budgeted position and <br />performed intheabsence of the regular incumbent. <br />(a-3) The content of the position or work assumed must be <br />substantially the same as performed by the regular incumbent. <br />(a-4) Credit shall not be given for any acting capacity work <br />which is referenced in a class specification as being appropriate to the <br />employee's regular position. <br />(a-5) In any fiscal year, an employee must accumulate seven (7) <br />calendar days in an acting capacity before becoming eligible for acting pay. <br />(a-6) Acting capacity.work must be assigned by someone having <br />the authority to do so. <br />(a-7) The determination of whether particular duties are subject <br />to compensation at a higher rate of pay lies exclusively with the City of <br />I Colton. <br />(b) Employees who qualify for acting pay shall receive the <br />equivalent of one pay range additional pay or the first step of the salary <br />range assigned the position being filled, whichever is higher, except that <br />in no case will an employee be compensated at a rate higher than the "E" Step <br />of :the acting classification. <br />6. That the current rule concerning compensation for stand-by time be <br />amended to sixteen (16) hours straight time for one week (7 days). If a <br />- - - <br />
