City of Colton <br />CoDIMunit-y Services Department <br />WATER RULE NO. 1 <br />ADOPTION OF RULES -,AND DEFINITIONS <br />4 <br />•.A. The following rules are effective w4=:yin the water service area of the <br />City of Colton as approved by the City Council. <br />1. All rules herein set forth are subject at all times to change. <br />Reasonable effort Grill be made to issue revised copies whenever <br />any changes•so require. Copies of the rules in effect will be kept <br />up-to-date and on file in the office of the Community Services Depart- <br />ment. Consumers or others contemplating any expenditures or activities <br />governed by these rules should assure themselves that they have the <br />latest correct information by visiting, telephoning or otherwise <br />contacting the Department. <br />2. For the purpose of these rules, the following terms shall be construed <br />to have the following meanings: <br />a. ADEQUATE SUPPLY: That quantity of rater, requ?_red to satisfy <br />maximum day and peak hour demands, including fire flow demands, <br />• for facility or development requesting water service. <br />b. APPLICANT: A person, persons, association, government agency, <br />partnership, corporation or other concern who indicates a desire <br />to obtain water service from the Department. <br />c. BASIC AREA: All that area within the City Limits and served by <br />the City except that described as "Mutual Agreement with Other <br />Utilities.' <br />d. 'BATTERY: A metering installation consisting of two or more meters <br />operated in parallel. as a substitute for a single, larger meter. <br />e. CITY: City of Colton <br />f. CCF.•'DiERCIAL• & INDUSTRIAL 20NT'S: Commercial zones are those areas <br />designated by the Planning Department, City of Colton, including <br />C-1, C-2; 11-1 and M-2. <br />g. CONSUMER: The person, persons, association, corporation, partnership, <br />government agency or other.concern who uses or is entitled to use <br />water from the Department. <br />h. COUNTY AREA: All that area in the unincorporated County territory <br />.which receives water service from the Department. <br />S.. DATE OF PRESYN CATION: The date upon which a bill. or notice is <br />mailed or delivered by the Department to the customer. <br />J.
