RETIREE'S HEALTH INSURANCE PARTICIPATION <br />Effective upon the adoption of this MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING, <br />individuals who shall thereafter retire (service or disability) from <br />the City employ, during and after the 1983 calendar year may, at <br />the retiree's discretion, enroll in the City -provided health <br />insurance plan of the employee's choice. <br />All premiums required by the retiree's participation in such health <br />insurance plan shall be paid by the retiree. Participation in any <br />health insurance plan is contingent upon the health insurance <br />carrier approving the enrollment of a retired employee. <br />4. LONG TERM DISABILITY <br />Effective January 1, 1983, the City shall provide to each represented <br />employee a long term disability program with a minimum of waiting <br />period changed from sixty days to 30 days. <br />5. PERS CONTRIBUTIONS <br />Upon adoption <br />of this MEMORANDUM <br />OF UNDERSTANDING <br />by the City <br />Council, the <br />City shall commence <br />the procedure for <br />amending the <br />miscellaneous members contract between the Public Employees Retire- <br />ment System and the City of Colton, to prospectively revoke Govern- <br />ment Code 20614, of Stats. 1978, in accordance with Government <br />Code 2061.4, of Stats. 1980. <br />-2- <br />
