CITY OF COLTON <br />AGENDA REPORT (CONTINUED) <br />FOR COUNCIL MEETING OF October 2, 1990. <br />SUBJECT: <br />INCREASE EXISTING FEES FOR POLICE ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICES <br />PURPOSE <br />1. To increase fees for services provided at a level <br />commensurate with fees charged by neighboring police <br />agencies. <br />2. To increase funds available to the City General Fund. <br />3. To recover part of the cost of labor, materials, and <br />overhead involved in processing these services. <br />4. To reduce the demands for services which directly impact <br />the Police Department's ability to serve the public. <br />The staff recommends that Council: <br />1. Increase dog license fees as follows: <br />Standard dog license fee $16.00 <br />Neutered or spayed dog license fee $-8.00 <br />Penalty for late renewal (by July lst) $11.00 <br />2. Increase apprehension fees as follows: <br />First apprehension $22.00 <br />Second apprehension $32.00 <br />Third apprehension $75.00 <br />3. Increase animal pickup fees as follows: <br />Dog pickup fee $21.00 <br />An additional $1.00 fee will be added <br />to the current San Bernardino City <br />Shelter fee to offset administrative <br />costs for the police department. <br />Dead Dog pickup fee $12.00 <br />Dead Cat pickup fee $10.00 <br />Report Prepared by: B.
