City of Colton <br />Senior Police Services Clerk (Continued) <br />Monitor in -custody felony arrests through the JIMS system of the <br />Central Name Index computer and ascertain that reports are ready <br />for District Attorney review and filing. <br />Check reports, records and other data for accuracy, completeness, <br />and compliance with established procedures and standards. <br />Make appointments and travel arrangements for conferences, meetings <br />and classes; maintain monthly and yearly calendars of the Detective <br />Division. <br />Post letters to victims of property crimes, suspects of non - <br />sufficient funds check cases, banks requesting records of check <br />suspects, other agencies and businesses regarding suspects wanted <br />or criminal activity. <br />Assist other divisions during emergencies (i.e., Records, <br />Communications, Administration); act as police matron when <br />requested. <br />Assist other clerical personnel by entering non -emergency calls for <br />service into the CAD system. <br />Perform related duties as assigned. <br />QUALIFICATIONS <br />Knowledge of: <br />English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. <br />Modern office procedures, techniques and equipment. <br />Correct business letter and report writing procedures. <br />Principles and practices of data entry and word processing. <br />Law enforcement terminology and procedures. <br />Functions and duties of local, state and federal law <br />enforcement agencies as needed for proper referral. <br />Abilitv to: <br />Learn, understand, interpret, and apply policies and <br />procedures. <br />Learn, understand, and interpret the Penal Code, Vehicle Code <br />and other codes relating to crimes. <br />2 <br />
