Community Youth Project Coordinator <br />DEFINITION <br />Under general supervision, plans and coordinates a variety of City sponsored youth <br />alternative programs, activities and efforts; performs related work as assigned. <br />This single position class is responsible for the development and implementation of <br />gang alternative and substance abuse prevention programs, including youth <br />employment development, peer counseling/support, anti -graffiti clean up programs, <br />recreational activities and drug awareness seminars. This class is distinguished from <br />other recreation and social and community service classes, by its focus on youth <br />diversion services. <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED <br />Receives general supervision from City Manager or his/her designee. <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES - Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: <br />Provide youth and family counseling services for delinquent, high-risk youth. <br />Develop comprehensive resource and referral file and service network with schools <br />and community based organizations.
