Personnel Officer Johnsen submitted the Affidavit of Posting and reported that no formal protests or objections
have been received.
Mr. Johnsen reviewed his memorandum regarding the reclassification from the position of Collections Supervisor to
Collections Officer, whereby the duties would remain comparatively the same, however, there would be a decrease in
the salary range for the classification.
Councilman Rehrer asked if this would require an additional person, and an increase in personnel.
Mr. Johnsen answered no, this position has been vacant since the retirement of the former Collections Supervisor.
Mayor Beltran asked if anyone desired to speak on this matter.
Personnel
Reclassification
Mayor Beltran declared the Public Hearing open.
Personnel Officer Johnsen submitted the Affidavit of Posting and reported that no formal protests or objections
have been received.
Mr. Johnsen advised that Staff recommends the change in classification from Building Maintenance Supervisor to
Building Inspector/Maintenance Coordinator, which will involve an increase in salary from Range 24 to Range 25,
and would enable the employee to handle both inspections and maintenance for the City.
Mr. John Twiss, Director of Building and Safety, stated the inspections for the department have increased considerably
and will continue to do so, therefore, this reclassification will benefit and assistance the department, as well as
the City.
Councilman Rehrer stated there are presently two inspectors for the City that do this work, and he felt this promotion
might tend to downgrade the existing classifications, and was not needed.
