Mayor Gonzales stated he understands the applicant has additional material 4(� <br />and information, since this matter was considered by the Planning Commission, <br />and, therefore, he would recommend this item be referred back to the Planning <br />Commission for additional study and review. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, referring back to <br />the Planning Commission for review Conditional Use Permit application, Index <br />No. C-3-78, requested by Feroz Ahmed. Unanimous vote. <br />COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Street Lighting <br />Community Services Director Earl Young reported from his memorandum dated <br />March 30, 1978, and referred to a letter from the City of San Bernardino, <br />Engineering Department, regarding their intent to upgrade the crosswalk <br />at the intersection of Mt. Vernon Avenue and Johnston Street with tunnel <br />lighting, illuminated pedestrian crossing signs and flashing beacons. <br />Mr. Young advised that the southwest corner of this intersection is under <br />the jurisdiction of the City of Colton, and the City of San Bernardino is <br />requesting permission to do the necessary work to accomplish the installa- <br />tion of a street light at this corner, with Colton to assume the mainte- <br />t nance and electrical power costs of the street light. <br />M Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Hayesapproving Y � pp g and <br />< authorizing permission to the City of San Bernardino to install street light <br />at the southwest corner of the intersection of Mt. Vernon Avenue and Johnston <br />Q Street, with the City of Colton to assume the maintenance and electrical <br />power costs of the street light. Unanimous vote. <br />Street Vacations <br />Mr. Young reported on the proposed vacation of a portion of Rosedale Avenue, <br />which was requested by the Wight Hopkins Development Company in connection <br />with Tract No. 9942, and was reviewed and approved by the Planning Commission <br />at a meeting held March 28, 1978. <br />Mr. Young recommended approval of Resolution No. 3799, declaring the intent <br />to vacate a portion of Rosedale Avenue, and setting the date of Tuesday, <br />May 16, 1978, for public hearing on this matter. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve <br />Resolution No. 3799. Vote was unanimous. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3799 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, <br />CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE ABAN- <br />DONMENT OF A PORTION OF ROSEDALE AVENUE NORTH OF LITTON <br />AVENUE. <br />Bids <br />Mr. Young reviewed the eight bids received and opened for the Rancho Avenue <br />Widening and Sewer Trunk Project, recommending the bid be awarded to the low <br />bidder, Riverside Construction Company, in the amount of $380,449.35. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Hayes, approving award <br />of bid to Riverside Construction Company in the amount of $3803449.35, for the <br />Rancho Avenue Widening and Sewer Trunk Project. Unanimous vote. <br />License Agreement <br />Mr. Young presented to the City Council a copy of a license agreement between <br />the City of Colton and the Santa Fe Railway Company, covering the proposed in- <br />stallation of an 18 inch sewer line beneath the railroad tracks along Rancho <br />Avenue, in connection with the Rancho Avenue widening project, and requested <br />approval and Minute Action from the City Council authorizing Mr. Young to sign <br />the license agreement on behalf of the City. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, approving <br />and authorizing Community Services Director Earl Young to execute License <br />Agreement between the City of Colton and the Santa Fe Railway Company as <br />outlined.
