24 <br />Mayor Beltran stated there is a motion and second on the floor, and asked <br />the wishes of the City Council on this matter. <br />Resolution No. 3762 was unanimously approved. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3762 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON <br />CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER THE ABAN- <br />DONMENT OF ORANGE SHOW ROAD NORTH OF FAIRWAY DRIVE. <br />Speed Zone Changes <br />Ord. No. 1532 <br />Mr. Young referred to his memorandum dated February 15, 1978, and a memoran- <br />dum from Police Chief Elliott, regarding recommended speed zone changes on <br />Washington Street and Barton Road, as a part of the continuing speed zone <br />survey conducted by the Automobile Club of Southern California. <br />Mr. Young concluded if the City Council agrees with these recommendations, <br />Staff recommends adoption of an emergency Ordinance, No. 1532, approving <br />the changes. <br />Moved by Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to waive full <br />reading of Ordinance No.*1532. Unanimous vote. <br />Moved by Councilman Gonzales, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to adopt Ordi- <br />nance No. 1532. Upon Roll Call, the Vote was: <br />AYES: Five; Beltran, Cisneros, Gonzales, Hayes and Rehrer. <br />NOES: None. <br />ABSENT: None. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />Bids <br />1532 - AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 1074, AND CHAPTER <br />10.04, SECTION 10.04.130, 16.a, ARTICLE XV OF THE COLTON <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, REGULATING THE USE OF TRAFFIC UPON THE <br />STREETS, SIDEWALKS AND OTHER PRIVATE PLACES IN THE CITY <br />OF COLTON. <br />Streets/Sewers <br />Mr. Young read his memorandum dated February 15, 1978, requesting permission <br />to advertise for bids on the Rancho Avenue Widening and Sewer Trunk Line Pro- <br />ject, which will entail major.widening of South Rancho Avenue, from Georgia <br />Street southerly to La Cadena Drive, and a sewer trunk line from Georgia <br />Street to the Water Quality Control Plant. <br />Mr. Young advised that plans and specifications have been completed, and <br />Staff is in the process of obtaining the necessary permit to cross under <br />the Portland Cement Company railroad spur at Georgia Street with the <br />trunk line. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Gonzales, <br />authorizing Staff to advertise for bids on the Rancho Avenue Widen- <br />ing and Sewer Trunk Line project as outlined. Unanimous vote. <br />Bids <br />Valley Blvd. Interceptor Sewer Project <br />Mr. Young reported from his memorandum dated February 15, 1978, request- <br />ing permission to advertise for bids on the Valley Boulevard Interceptor <br />Sewer Project from Rancho Avenue to approximately 300 feet west of Acacia <br />Avenue, for which plans and specifications have been completed. <br />Mr. Young said that Staff recommends this project be broken into two bidding <br />schedules - ScheduleI involving that portion from Rancho Avenue to Pepper <br />Avenue, and Schedule II to involve that portion from Pepper Avenue to 300 <br />feet west of Acacia Avenue. Mr. Young advised the two bidding schedules <br />will be under one bid package, however, will allow the City the flexibility <br />of rejecting Schedule II should the entire project exceed the monies avail- <br />able for the project. <br />FEB..:,2 1:1978 <br />
