Planning Director Gonzales reviewed Staff reports and maps concerning the General Plan Amendment relating to the proposed Land Use Element, Index No. A-3-78, ad- vising that the.Planning Commission held a public hearing on this matter on February 14, 1978, and recommend to the City Council approval of the General Plan Amendment which involves the proposed land use redesignation of two areas of the City, as indicated on Vicinity Map designated as "Exhibit 1-A", Area One consisting of approximately 8.5 acres, located in the south-central portion of the City, and Area Two encompassing approximately 85 acres, located in the southeast section of Colton and includes land under the City's Sphere of Influence within the County's jurisdiction. Mr. Gonzales concluded that Staff has made an environmental review and recom- mends that a negative declaration be issued. Mayor Beltran asked if anyone desired to speak on this matter.
