Appointments s Mayor Gonzales referred to his memorandum dated May 16, 1978, recommending the appointment of Police Chief Phil Elliott as the City's representative to the Arrowhead Justice Association. Councilman Rehrer requested that this item be held over to a later date. PUBLIC HEARINGS: Zoning P. C. Res. No. 874 Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported that no protests or objections had been received. Planning Director Gonzales reported from his memorandum dated May 11, 1978, out- lining the change of zones and general locations for the prezoning of Annexations North 13 and 14, South 29, 30, 31, 32 and 33, and East 31, advising that at this time the City of Colton is the only public entity having the capacity to furnish water, sewer and other municipal services to these annexations, and Staff finds (Y� the proposed prezonings are consistent with the residential designations of the properties as outlined in the City's General Plan and that of Grand Terrace. ORDINANCE NO. 1541 - AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 964, First Reading— AS AMENDED, AND PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN ZONE RECLASSIFICATIONS. Street Vacations Rosedale Avenue Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported that no protests or objections had been received. Community Services Director Earl Young advised that the Planning Commission, at a meeting held March 28, 1978, approved the vacation of Rosedale Avenue, which was requested by Wight Hopkins Development Company in connection with Tract No. 9942. Mr. Young stated Rosedale Avenue, north of Litton Avenue, is an unimproved right-of-way with an existing power line owned by Edison, for which a 25 foot easement has been obtained. Mayor Gonzales asked if anyone desired to speak on this matter. Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to terminate the Public Hearing. Vote was unanimous. RESOLUTION NO. 3815 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE ABANDONMENT OF A PORTION OF ROSEDALE AVENUE NORTH OF LITTON AVENUE. CORRESPONDENCE: Mayor Gonzales read a letter dated May 5, 1978, from Thomas E. Lee, spokesman and resident of the Lake Cadena Mobile Home Park, regarding obtaining a rent stabilization ordinance for the citizens of Colton. MAY 16 1978
