Deeds 161 <br />Corporation Grant Deeds (2) from G -W Land Company (Everett Investment Company) <br />for street dedication and sewer easement, approve and authorize recording. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve the Consent <br />Calendar. Unanimous vote. <br />MAYOR'S REPORTS AND PROCLAMATIONS: <br />Proclamations <br />Mayor Gonzales read in full a Proclamation honoring National Bible Week, from <br />November 19 through 26, 1978. <br />Boards & Commissions <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Hayes, ratifying appoint- <br />ments by Mayor Gonzales as follows: Pete B. Ramos and Armando Saenz to the Plann- <br />ing Commission; Daniel Carrasco to the Utilities Commission; and Dean Carter to <br />the Cemetery Commission. Unanimous vote. <br />Legislation <br />Co Mayor. Gonzales referred to correspondence and resolutions from the Cities of <br />a) South El Monte and Riverbank, stating their opposition to the lack of concern <br />Q for the impact of State mandated costs. Mayor Gonzales recommended that the <br />City of Colton adopt a similar resolution. <br />Q Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve Resolu- <br />tion No. 3878. Vote was unanimous. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3878 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON, CALIFORNIA, <br />ESTABLISHING ITS STRONG OPPOSITION TO THE LACK OF THE STATE OF <br />CALIFORNIA'S CONCERN FOR THE IMPACT OF STATE MANDATED COSTS. <br />Awards <br />Mayor Gonzales presented inscribed placques to former Student Advisors of the Parks <br />and Recreation Commission for the 1977-78 school year, Rachel Padilla and Ramon <br />Hernandez, for their outstanding participation during their terms. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Zoning <br />P. C. Res. No. 898 <br />Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. <br />City Clerk Ramos submitted the Affidavit of Publication and reported that no <br />protests or objections had been received. <br />Planning Director Gonzales reported that the zone change application was re- <br />quested by Heritage Development, Inc., for a change of zone from C -2-X to <br />R -3-X, on property located south of Washington Street, west of Center Drive, <br />north of Barton Road, and falling entirely within the boundaries of proposed <br />Tentative Tract No. 10567, consisting of approximately 2 acres. Mr. Gonzales <br />said the proposed zone change is consistent with the general plan and compat- <br />ible with the surrounding land uses. <br />Mr. Gonzales advised that the Planning Commission recommend approval of the zone <br />change request, as outlined in Planning Commission Resolution No. 898, adopted <br />at a public hearing held October 10, 1978. <br />Mayor Gonzales asked if anyone desired to speak in favor of or in opposition to <br />this matter. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to terminate the <br />Public Hearing. Unanimous vote. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to waive further <br />reading of Ordinance No. 1552.
