AYES: Two; Gonzales, Hayes. 343 <br />NOES: Three; Cisneros, Rehrer, Temby. <br />ABSENT: None. <br />Motion did not carry. <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION: <br />The City Council adjourned to Executive Session at 8:02 p. m., to discuss Personnel <br />Matters, and reconvened at 8:56 p. m., all Members present. <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br />Professional Organizations <br />Colton Junior Woman's Club <br />Mrs. Margaret Berkebile, City Treasurer, spoke on behalf of the Colton Junior Woman's <br />Club, advising that after 30 years of service to the community, the Club has disband- <br />ed and they are giving the funds remaining in the treasury to non-profit organiza- <br />tions. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve Resolution <br />No. 3950. Unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3950 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON ACCEPT- <br />ING DONATION FROM THE COLTON JUNIOR WOMAN'S CLUB. <br />Chamber of Commerce <br />Mayor Gonzales referred to a letter dated November 21, 1979, from the Colton Chamber <br />of Commerce regarding the proposed poker parlor club, which he stated has already <br />been taken care of with the appointment of the ad hoc committee. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />PPrgnnnPl <br />City Manager Gonzales stated that after much deliberation and review of applications, <br />he would like to announce the appointment of Mr. Robert Trevino as Planning Director <br />for the City of Colton. <br />Mr. Gonzales also introduced to the Council Members Mr. Calvin K. Wang, Director of <br />Community Services for the City of Colton. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, to approve appoint- <br />ment of Mr. Robert Trevino as Planning Director for the City of Colton. Unanimous vote. <br />COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Building Code Files <br />Mr. Daniel H. Burnett, City Engineer, read from his report regarding alleged build- <br />ing code violations and infringement of his property and rights as stated by Mr. <br />McCool, Lot 32 of Tract 7582, by his neighbor, Mr. Smith, Lot 29 of Tract 7582. <br />Mr. Burnett reviewed the information and conditions that have existed, beginning <br />in 1976 to the present, stating that he believes all grading operations on Lots <br />DEC s.,) <br />Mrs. Berkebile presented a check in the amount <br />of $1,000 to <br />Police Chief Elliott <br />(� <br />for the Department's Crime Prevention Program, <br />of $1,000 to Fire <br />and presented <br />a check in the amount <br />Chief Teague for unbedgeted <br />fighters (but not paramedics). <br />equipment and <br />training for the Fire- <br />� <br />Chief Elliott and Chief Teague both expressed <br />g p <br />their <br />e r appreciation <br />and gratitude to <br />Mrs. Berkebile. <br />Q <br />Mrs. Berkebile then requested Council.approval <br />of Resolution <br />No. 3950, outlining <br />these contributions. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve Resolution <br />No. 3950.
