Resolutions of Commendation <br />American Field Service Students <br />20'1' <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, ratifying Resolution of <br />Commendation as read by Mayor Gonzales and presented to American Field Service <br />Student, Sylvia Trevaini. Unanimous vote. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, ratifying Resolution <br />of Commendation as read by Mayor Gonzales and presented to American Field Service <br />Student, Staci Rhodes. Vote was unanimous. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: <br />Personnel <br />Purchasing Division <br />Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. <br />Personnel Officer Calabrese submitted the Affidavit of Posting and reported that <br />no protests or objections had been received. <br />Mr. Calabrese stated the Public Hearing this evening is to consider amending the <br />0) classification plan for the City of Colton and approve the new job description of <br />(Y� Purchasing Clerk, which is presently classified as Secretary I. to fill the vacancy <br />in the Purchasing Division of the Finance Department. <br />Mr. Calabrese stated the change in title and job description will allow for more <br />accuracy in advertising for candidates and should result in the hiring of the most <br />qualified person. Mr. Calabrese advised there would be no change in salary, the <br />salary range for Purchasing Clerk would remain at the same level as that for the <br />Secretary I position; therefore, Staff recommends approval of Resolution No. 3895 <br />to include the new classification. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to terminate the Public <br />Hearing. Unanimous vote. <br />Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve Resolution No. <br />3895. Vote was unanimous. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3895 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING <br />THE PAY AND CLASSIFICATION PLAN. <br />CORRESPONDENCE: <br />Pacific Telephone <br />City Manager Calabrese read a letter dated February 8, 1979, from Mrs. Frank <br />Ferre, President of the Colton Woman's Club, requesting that the City Council <br />work out some convenient arrangement where the citizens of Colton can pay their <br />telephone bills, inasmuch as City Hall is no longer providing this service. <br />Councilman Rehrer stated it was his understanding that Pacific Telephone is attempt- <br />ing to work out some arrangement with another business here in Colton for payment <br />of telephone bills. <br />Mr. Calabrese stated he has had conversations with representatives from Pacific <br />Telephone and they are making every effort to provide that service in Colton. <br />Rent Control <br />Mr. Calabrese referred to a letter from James B. Marshall regarding a problem he <br />is having of rent gouging with his landlord. <br />Mayor Gonzales asked if Mr. Marshall was present. Mayor Gonzales recommended this <br />matter be continued until the next regular Council Meeting. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Zoning <br />P. C. Res. No. 904 <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to set for Public Hearing <br />on March 20, 1979, Planning Commission Resolution No. 904, Zone Change, Index No. <br />A-1-79, Albert Field.
