Resolutions of Commendation American Field Service Students 20'1' Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, ratifying Resolution of Commendation as read by Mayor Gonzales and presented to American Field Service Student, Sylvia Trevaini. Unanimous vote. Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, ratifying Resolution of Commendation as read by Mayor Gonzales and presented to American Field Service Student, Staci Rhodes. Vote was unanimous. PUBLIC HEARINGS: Personnel Purchasing Division Mayor Gonzales declared the Public Hearing open. Personnel Officer Calabrese submitted the Affidavit of Posting and reported that no protests or objections had been received. Mr. Calabrese stated the Public Hearing this evening is to consider amending the 0) classification plan for the City of Colton and approve the new job description of (Y� Purchasing Clerk, which is presently classified as Secretary I. to fill the vacancy in the Purchasing Division of the Finance Department. Mr. Calabrese stated the change in title and job description will allow for more accuracy in advertising for candidates and should result in the hiring of the most qualified person. Mr. Calabrese advised there would be no change in salary, the salary range for Purchasing Clerk would remain at the same level as that for the Secretary I position; therefore, Staff recommends approval of Resolution No. 3895 to include the new classification. Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to terminate the Public Hearing. Unanimous vote. Moved by Councilman Rehrer, seconded by Councilman Hayes, to approve Resolution No. 3895. Vote was unanimous. RESOLUTION NO. 3895 - RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COLTON AMENDING THE PAY AND CLASSIFICATION PLAN. CORRESPONDENCE: Pacific Telephone City Manager Calabrese read a letter dated February 8, 1979, from Mrs. Frank Ferre, President of the Colton Woman's Club, requesting that the City Council work out some convenient arrangement where the citizens of Colton can pay their telephone bills, inasmuch as City Hall is no longer providing this service. Councilman Rehrer stated it was his understanding that Pacific Telephone is attempt- ing to work out some arrangement with another business here in Colton for payment of telephone bills. Mr. Calabrese stated he has had conversations with representatives from Pacific Telephone and they are making every effort to provide that service in Colton. Rent Control Mr. Calabrese referred to a letter from James B. Marshall regarding a problem he is having of rent gouging with his landlord. Mayor Gonzales asked if Mr. Marshall was present. Mayor Gonzales recommended this matter be continued until the next regular Council Meeting. PLANNING COMMISSION REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: Zoning P. C. Res. No. 904 Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to set for Public Hearing on March 20, 1979, Planning Commission Resolution No. 904, Zone Change, Index No. A-1-79, Albert Field.
