CORRESPONDENCE: <br />Personnel <br />Salaries <br />Councilwoman Cisneros read in full a letter signed by all of the Crossing Guards <br />employed by the City, in which they requested Council's consideration for an in- <br />crease in their hourly wages. <br />Council consensus was that this matter be referred to Staff for report at the next <br />Council Meeting. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />AnnaXatinnc <br />west :il <br />Mayor Gonzales advised that the matter concerning Colton Annexation West 31 had in- <br />advertently been placed under Public Hearings on the Agenda, and should have appear- <br />ed under Planning Commission Reports and Recommendations, for consideration in setting <br />this annexation for public hearing on Tuesday, March 6, 1979, as outlined in Resolu- <br />tion No. 3892. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, to approve Resolution <br />No. 3892, and setting a Public Hearing date for Tuesday, March 6, 1979, for Colton <br />Annexation West 31. Unanimous vote. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 3892 <br />- A RESOLUTION GIVING NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY <br />OF COLTON UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESCRIBED HEREIN AND DESIG- <br />NATED "COLTON ANNEXATION WEST 31" AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE <br />TIME AND PLACE FIXED FOR HEARING PROTESTS THERETO. <br />COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR'S REPORTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Legal <br />Community Services Director Earl Young read his memorandum dated January 30, 19795 <br />regarding a Proxy Vote and representation on the Stockholders Board of the La <br />Sierra Water Company for the City of Colton. <br />Mr. Young advised since the retirement of Jim Trusty, Water Superintendent, it is <br />necessary that the City Council appoint another representative, granting that person <br />a proxy vote, as well as signing over one share of La Sierra Stock to that person. <br />Mr. Young recommended the Council consider appointing himself on an interim basis <br />until a new Water Superintendent can be appointed. <br />Moved by Councilwoman Cisneros, seconded by Councilman Rehrer, appointing Earl <br />Young, Community Services Director, as the City's representative on the Stock- <br />holders Board of the La Sierra Water Company, and granting him a Proxy Vote, as <br />well as one share of La Sierra Stock, on an interim basis. Unanimous vote. <br />Trart Filac <br />Mr. Young requested that the matter concerning Tract No. 9536 be removed from <br />the Agenda, to be brought back to the City Council at a later date. <br />Bids <br />Pa rks <br />Mr. Young requested permission to advertise for bids for concrete block bleachers <br />at Municipal, Veterans and Central ballparks, which will be paid for out of the <br />State Park Bond Issue funds. <br />Moved by Councilman Hayes, seconded by Councilwoman Cisneros, approving and author- <br />izing Staff to advertise for bids for concrete block bleachers at Municipal, Veterans <br />and Central Ballparks. Unanimous vote. <br />Bids <br />Cemetery <br />Mr. Young requested permission to advertise for bids on a Maintenance Contract for <br />the Cemetery, which was previously recommended by the Cemetery Commission. <br />Questions were raised with regard to the existing City personnel at the Cemetery, <br />and what might happen with their employment status should the City decide to con- <br />tract for the grounds maintenance. <br />FEB 6 1979 <br />
